Angie Mckenzie (aka Lady Unique) experienced traumatic burn injuries in her infancy, and suffered 24% partial & full thickness burns in a fire at her family home. Angie's career path was in the social sector for charitabble and wefare activities giving advice, guidance and protection, in roles such as a social worker, counsellor, resettlement manager in support and housing management, team and mental health manager. She has spent over 30 years working within organisations providing safeguarding for people living with a variety of particular support needs, including those suffering with addicton or mental health problems. Angie is as Social Entrepreneur, a Trauma and Transformational Life Skills Coach, and a (BASC qualified) Skin Camouflage Practitioner. A Health Ambassador and Mental Health First Aider. In 2007 Angie orchestrated a Facebook Burn Survivors Peer Support Group, and since 2015 she is the founder and CEO of UniquelyMe, a Peer Support Fellowship for people who have suffered trauma, burns, scarings, and those who have a hidden or visible differences. This service provides 1-2-1 buddying, peer support coaching, organized social outings and yearly retreats for idividuals and survivors who are isolated and feeling disconnected in society. And Since the Covid pandemic, she has hosted a Global weekly burn survivors peer support zoom meetings, a life line for many which continues weekly to this day. She is the Mother of two, and Grand-mummy to four precious grandchildren. She is also the care giver to her aging mother, and continues to tirelessly engage in voluntary supportive life events,
