She has worked in the field of education for more than 30 years. She has served at the classroom, as well as the administrative level. She has a background in teacher appraisal, as well as English as a Second Language. She received her B.A. Degree from Houston Baptist University with a dual major in Elementary Education and Spanish (1988). She ascertained her M.Ed. from Houston Baptist University in Elementary Education while simultaneously receiving her Mid-Management Certification (1994). She completed the Doctoral Program at the University of Houston, receiving her Ed.D. with an emphasis in Historical, Social, and Cultural Foundations (1999). She also received her School Counselor Certification from Sam Houston State University (Woodlands-2014). She recently founded her own business entitled Overcomers: Women of Faith LLC. It is a faith-based organization which utilizes its platform to encourage Christian Female Entrepreneurs to step out on faith and use their skill, talent, and expertise to further build the Kingdom of God. Overcomers: Women of Faith LLC in conjunction with Heart of Gold Inc. will host a Holiday Soiree and Book Release on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 6:00 PM.
