James "Rambo" Smith While serving in the US Army, James began working as a firefighter in North Carolina. His career span decades before he retired. But the whole time he worked, he used his talent to help inspire and encourage people all around the world. Among being a United States Army Veteran and Retired Firefighter James serves his community as a Commissioner with the City of Glendale Commission on Diverse Cultures. He has a longstanding history as a singer, songwriter, entertainer, actor, director, producer, contributing author, and advisor. James is one of the founders of the award winning gospel group, “Men After God’s Own Heart.” He puts his heart in everything he does. Performed for the 911 memorial services, N.C. Fallen Firefighters Memorial, National Fallen Firefighters Memorial, the Charleston 9 Memorial, as well as MLB, NHL, NASCAR just to name a few. ●Appeared as an Extra in the 2003 movie "Ladder 49" which starred actor John Travolta and Joaquin Phoenix ●.
